What is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty, or labia reduction surgery, is a procedure that surgically trims away excess skin while reshaping the labia minora in adult women.

Why consider Labiaplasty?

Some women experience discomfort, pain, or embarrassment during sexual activity or when wearing tight panties or swimsuits, due to the presence of excessive loose skin in the labia minora. For these women, labiaplasty may help restore comfort as well as self-confidence by eliminating all that excess skin.

Will Labiaplasty affect my Sex Life?

No! Although you will have to refrain from sex for a few weeks after surgery, once you recover fully, you may resume your normal lifestyle and sexual activity. Labiaplasty scars are almost invisible, as they are hidden within the natural folds and creases in the labia minora. In many women, labia reduction actually increases sensitivity in the labia and affords easier access to the clitoris. Some women may opt to trim back the clitoral hood as well to increase sensitivity in the area.

How long does it take to heal after Labiaplasty?

It is normal to experience some degree of soreness and swelling immediately following the surgery, but these symptoms subside naturally within two weeks, although minor swelling may continue for up to six weeks. You will need one week of rest from work to recover completely, and we recommend a daily soak with Epsom salts during that week. In order to help you sit more comfortably, we also recommend an inflatable donut cushion. You will have to abstain from sex completely for four weeks, but may resume and enjoy normal sexual activity after that point.
