The procedure for breast augmentation involves making an incision in the crease under the breast, around the areola and downward or in the armpit. Dr. Bootstaylor inserts the implant once the incision is made. Silicone implants are pre-filled, and saline implants are filled once inside the breast. The placement of the incisions is intended to facilitate the desired effect while reducing the visibility of the resultant scars. If you have had a breast augmentation in the past and want to change your implants, Dr. Bootstaylor uses the existing scar lines for new incisions whenever possible.
