Gynecomastia may be one of the most difficult cosmetic problems for men. The medical condition causes an enlargement of the breasts that cannot be addressed with diet and exercise. Our Gynecomastia Before and After Pictures show you some examples of how Dr. Lisa Bootstaylor has helped men in the metro Atlanta area, and the surrounding communities in Georgia who have “man boobs” due to gynecomastia. Individual results may vary.
A masculine body is defined by a toned and healthy appearance that reflects a man’s active lifestyle and desire to take care of himself. Enlarged breasts on a man sends the opposite message, but not all men have control over the way their breasts look. Gynecomastia is a medical condition that causes excess breast tissue to develop in males. The conditions may set in during puberty or younger. In most cases, the enlarged breasts return to a natural appearance after puberty. Some men, though, have permanently enlarged breasts.
Gynecomastia surgery is performed in a similar manner as breast reduction for women, yet tailored to the unique physique of a man’s body. Dr. Bootstaylor makes incisions around the areola or in the armpit area. Dr. Bootstaylor uses the incisions to access and remove the excess breast tissue. Liposuction may be used to remove small pockets of fat and sculpt the remaining fat.
